The Idle Hour Sportsbar and Lounge

Cozy atmosphere, but needs to be refurbished especially the pool tables.

You know those "don't seem to be all that in the front but got it all inside" kinda places? Here is one.
That may be directly opposite to the rating I gave it, but the truth is although it's the right spot to "hideaway" and just enjoy yourself, it is missing a few vital things.
I'll start with the positives:
- The place is located in a okay enough spot, you can miss it if you don't know what you're looking for, which is good or bad depending on what you're looking for.
- The staff is friendly, which is a mega plus because that is hard to find anywhere in Trinidad.
- The bathrooms are fancy AF.
- The prices are good, and they have pool!

Negatives (which is why it's 3's)
- They don't take card, debit, credit, or otherwise. Major set back for a business nowadays.
- The music and ambiance is a turn-off to anyone who isn't into all-sports or all-oldies. It gives off that run down bar feel, but it really isn't.
- Go with a crew and expect to be your own entertainment, it's usually quiet. But this is both a positive and a negative.

All in all, i like the place, but I won't go more than once every few weeks, or unless i'm looking for a quiet place to get away from people in general.

Great local bar to hangout, pool tables, sports can be watched on different channels, very friendly staff and customers, good bar prices, good music, probably the best bar in St James. Lots of takeaway nearby.

Nice place to socialise. Good to carry a friend. Mixed drinks and cocktails are excellent. Staff friendly knowledgeable and makes a great experience
