Caura Hospital

If you or a loved one has reached the point of being referred for palliative at Caura, please run as fast and far as you can in the other direction away from Caura. This is no place for anyone to have hope or spend the last days of their life. It's not set up for that. There are a few staff members who are kind.but not enough of them are. More importantly, please listen to the cancer episodes of the Vitality Made Simple podcast by Dr. Debbie Ozment because there may be information that can save lives that you are not aware of.

Caura Hospital is located on the lovely hills of Caura. I am not certain what the Hospital is used for, but from what I know it was used for patients with tuberculosis. Recently during the Covid 19 pandemic, it was used to house patients who were positive. The Hospital looks as though it is slowly being renovated as some of the roofs look new. There are also some old buildings around. The view from the Hospital is also very beautiful.

Great care provided by the doctors and nurses at the palliative care unit. I’m sorry one person wasn’t allowed to stay overnight with patient when they are at their last but be rest assured they are monitored throughout the nights as well. Was really surprised of their service there. Great work by the team.

Best health care. Nursing staff are very professional and helpful. The infrastructure very antique and unique about over 100 years old. The health and safety measures are implemented and enforced. Sanitation dept does an excellent job.

The people who worked at Caura saved my life over 42 years ago, thanks to everyone working with the health care service, my surgeon was Dr Penco. I was only a little boy 12 years old.

I am utterly disappointed with the doctors at Ward 9 of the Caura Hospital.every day is a DIFFERENT Doctor with no dialogue.ward 9 is a highly contageous ward and after being confirmed negative for TB you continue to subject the patient to these condtions?
This patient has an already pre-existing condition of Scleroderma if they (the doctors) even know what that is!
The patient is already in a compromised state having a weakened immune system and having advanced stages to the pre-existing condition. Why oh Lord why continue to subject this patient to this condition. TB? Currently being in contact with these contageous patients isnt wise to me.
Please oh Lord relocate to a safer environment!
This patient already is suffering from scleroderma (connective tissue disorder, lupus, ulcers of the skin, depression etc.) clearly this facility is Not and i repeat NOT aware of what Scleroderma is!

Doctors at Caura Hospital needs to become aware!

My sister in law was a patient there, and the nurses took very good care of her. They were polite, patient and the doctor was also a nice person. Thank you all for taking care of her in her time of need. She's with the angels now and I apologize that no one invited you all to her funeral it wasn't intentional. So much on everyone's mind they forgot. But we deeply grateful for all you've done! From the Seepersad & Ghany fam.

I was never a patient there but my relative once worked there. The patients were well cared for and the views and environment surely help in the rehabilitation of the patients.

I use 2 work up there an the staff is great an fun 2 work with even the environment is cheerful
